Take these seven steps to approach digital marketing challenges confidently as a solopreneur.

1.      Plan everything

The best way to streamline your digital marketing efforts is to plan everything in advance. A comprehensive strategy will make your marketing that much more effective. Having a calendar of your content, making time for your SEO efforts each week, and automating your social media posting can save you a lot of time (and money). Keeping marketing as a part of your calendar also means you are less likely to forget about it as it becomes a part of your weekly schedule.

Know your brand and know your customers. Research the demographics of the social networks available and determine which one(s) will best promote your product or service. Whatever platform has the best potential to generate more clients is where you should concentrate your limited resources and time.

2.      Focus on content

Content should be at the heart of your initial marketing efforts. A website that is full of content and leadership thought is much easier to invest in and buy from than a basic page. Hence, high-quality content is the most important thing to invest in. Blogs, onsite words and even social media posts should be useful and interesting for your clients to read. The more valuable they find your content, the more conversions you will be able to see and the stronger your call to actions will be.

3.      Become a social media ninja

Neglecting social media as a solopreneur is a cardinal sin as it is one of the best ways you can streamline your overall marketing efforts. With social media, you can build up a following of loyal customers.  It offers free traffic from the likes of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.

4.      Do keyword research

You may not know very much about SEO but you really do not have to be an expert to make it work for you as a solopreneur. Google has a keyword research tool that is easy to learn. In addition, there are plenty of free other options for you to try. Try to find a profitable keyword that is relevant to you but that does not have too much competition. That means you will be able to target it easily.

5.      Take advantage of local

As a solopreneur, you need to take advantage of local in order to gain qualified leads. This helps you to streamline your efforts as aiming for clients in one city rather than the whole country is a lot less time intensive and complicated.

6.      Rehash your content

As a solopreneur, you need to get the most out of every minute of your time and out of everything you produce. Re-purpose your content across multiple digital media platforms.

For instance, take that blog post you wrote and share excerpts from it on Facebook and Twitter. Gather all those Twitter feeds you tweeted on some particular subject related to your brand and repurpose them as a blog post. Embed those presentations you held for prospective clients in your blog posts or on your website. In short, make all your content work for you in as many ways as possible.
